An Unexpected Thing to Do in Tempe

Our story started like many normal weeks for us in the business, answering emails and following up on potential sales leads. Our Brewery Tours had been picking up for the last several weeks during Arizona’s tourism season and we’d been busy managing several tours a week throughout March and April.

We got a text from the Tempe Chamber of Commerce, and they let us know that the Tempe Tourism team had just listed us on their website on the “Unexpected Things to do in Tempe” list. We had a sudden burst in social media followers and website traffic. It was huge honor for us to get on the list of things to do in Tempe so quickly. We’ve only been running our brewery tour business for a few months but we’ve gotten so much support from our local businesses and the Arizona Tourism Industry that we are very grateful for the openness of the community. The support has really been unexpected and validation that this brewery tour in Tempe is something that people want. At this point, we’ve run several dozen tours this year. The fact that over 30% of our customers have continued to be from Arizona is a crazy statistic, most locals avoid the tourism stuff. I think we’ve been able to build a tour by locals that locals go on and locals agree that it’s a good representation of our State.

For me that is the main thing I love about our tours. I want people to be proud of the State of Arizona and I think Arizonians want to show off their state. I think we are proud of our brewing industry and the effort they put in to win at the state, national and international level. Just last week one of my partners won an award at the World Beer Cup…8000+ breweries and cideries put in for an award and they walked away with one of them…last season 2 of my breweries won a World Beer Cup award. Six Byrd Cidery won last week, and Goldwater and Fate Brewing won in 2024. We want to provide a great experience for our guests and so far we have had a lot of fun creating an Unexpected Thing to do in Tempe to support Arizona Tourism and the Tempe Tourism industry.
