Our First Tour

This weekend we picked up a party of 4 at Catalyst Crafted Ales for a Saturday Tour.

We started our day with a tour of the brewing facility, discussing the production of beer and the barrel aging process. We also discussed the history of the Brewery it’s founding and it’s owners. Then we had a flight of 4-5oz tasters. At this stop we had one of their IPAs, a Mexican Lager, a Seltzer, and a Brown Ale. Of note one of the interesting things about Catalyst Ales is that they also have entire production line for seltzer beers that they keep stocked and regularly made as well called Destination Seltzer that is owned by Catalyst but just brewed under a different name and logo.

After our tasting was concluded we went hopped in our bus and drove a few minutes down the road to Goldwater Crossings. At Goldwater, we wanted the guests to mingle a bit and we decided to that everyone should get a pint. The atmosphere at Goldwater is open air and feels like a form of beer garden. One of the walls opens up and the ceilings are about 20 ft high so there’s a very comfortable feeling in the atmosphere. Most of the company ordered an amber or brown ale for their pint and we settled in for a chat over a pint. Several of the guests grabbed some of the brewery merchandise at this stop!

After pints, we hit the road again and went to Fate Brewing, one of the most accomplished Breweries in the state and winner of around 50 awards. At Fate we ordered appetizers for the group and got our flights. At Fate we got a lemon IPA, an Irish Ale, their seasonal stout and a lager. At Fate, everyone had a chance to enjoy their food and drinks. Before leaving Fate we were able to go to the brewing area and see what a production facility looks like at scale. The team was also able to see the canning facility and go behind the scenes for where they keep their staple beers canned and stored.

After the tour through the brewing facility, we got on our ride to our last stop at Six Byrd Cider Co. At Six Byrd, we had an exceptional experience and got to enjoy multiple types of cider, classics like Apple Pie and Pomegranate, but also unique ciders like pineapple and mulberry. One customer loved the cider so much they bought several packs to take home with them. Once we finished flights (and one customer ordered some additional food) then we headed up the road to drop them back off at Catalyst for their Uber/Lyft rides home.

All in all a successful brewery tour!

Cheers!
